It has been so hot outside that plein air painting for me has come to a screeching halt! I miss being outside painting and wish we could get a break. In the mean time I am working on a few new pieces indoors. Hopefully will be outside again soon.
I will be working on a show and project this Oct with a group of women "of a certain age". We will be concentrating on new art work that celebrates/explores why each of us are comfortable in our skin. In doing this we are also working on a calendar and/or book which will feature us in our "art skin". I will be doing some figure work which is outside the box for me, but will be putting my finger painting spin on it. I started a piece and like it's direction so I will post pics soon. Keep an eye open for it here or on FB. Cheers and stay tuned! (Oh, and if you are interested in a calendar let me know I will be taking pre orders!)
Thanks to all who came out last Friday to celebrate the Color of Music! I am also planning a possible Sunflowers class this month in my studio. I am looking at Thursday 7/21. Send an email to jmknight77@aol.com to sign up. Don't forget you can also set up your own class with your friends. Just email with dates and image you would like to paint. Cheers and up next... my 5 yr anniversary at the Stutz! Watch here for more details...
I will be in the studio tomorrow from noon to 5 and at our gallery show in Stutz ArtSpace "Color of Music" from 5-9pm. Since July 4th weekend is a major sale day in all of the stores, why not have one in the studio?! Stop in and check it out! It should be a beautiful day to take in art, downtown and the canal! See you tomorrow... Cheers!
Join me this Friday 7/1 for First Friday at the Stutz. My studio will be open from 12-5pm and then you will find me at the gallery for our show "Color of Music" 5-9pm. My large "Reggae Music" will be featured in the show.

I am a painter who has recently sat down my brushes and started using the brushes God gave me... MY FINGERS! I love this new technique and cannot paint enough. Thanks Allen Montegue for teaching me. I have a studio at the historic Stutz Building in Indianapolis. There you can visit me every first Friday of the month. I love to travel and my favorite trip thus far has been Tuscany. Cheers!
